  • Contributed to the development of, and led migration to, the Evergreen library system by the Conifer consortium of Algoma University, Laurentian University, and the University of Windsor
  • Installed, created or customized, and maintained information systems, including the LU|Zone|UL institutional repository implementation of DSpace

IBM Canada, Toronto (1998-2006)

Product manager, DB2 Universal Database for Linux and UNIX (2004-2006)

  • Coordinated product requirements with customers and partners including Red Hat and Zend
  • Led the development of and documented the ibm_db2 driver and the PDO standard database API for the PHP programming language

Information architect, DB2 Universal Database and IBM Software Group (2001-2004)

  • Led a team of 25 writers and 5 editors in Toronto and Silicon Valley to rearchitect a library of 40 manuals as a single set of web-based, topic-oriented documentation
  • Developed a documentation indexing, linking, and build system with PHP and DB2
  • Piloted and standardized the adoption of the Eclipse Information Center as IBM Software Group’s documentation search and delivery solution

Technical writer, DB2 Universal Database application development (1998-2001)

  • Updated manuals including the DB2 Application Development Guide and the DB2 Message Reference
  • Wrote and tested sample applications on Windows, Linux, UNIX, and OS/2 in C, C++, COBOL, Fortran, Java, Perl, PHP, and REXX
